KG-Anything is Possible!
Talk about a genuine reaction. The Celtic NBA Championship ranks 2nd on my list off all time great Boston sports moments. (#1 2004 WS). This is why I love sports.

WOW! The Celtics are in the NBA Finals and they are playing the Lakers . WOW all I can say is WOW. I am at a loss for words.
The upcoming Celtics-Lakers series is already bringing back a lot of memories. I only wish I could find my 1984 'BEAT LA" T-Shirt. I have a funny feeling we are going to see a lot of vintage video of those classic 80's duels over the next few weeks.
Magic, Bird, Short Shorts, Jack Nicholson (I've hated him since) and the OLD GAHDEN.
Now it's Garnett, Koby, Over Sized Shorts, Jack Nicholson (looking forward to re-hating him) and the NEW GAHDEN.
We have until Thursday to take in the nostalgia before the games begin. Take it all in! In the mean time take a look at this video. I've watched it about 100 times since last night.
From the moment I woke up yesterday I knew that at 3:30 I would be with my mom watching the Celtics game in my living room. Sure the lawn needed to be fertilized and the garden needed to be planted but if I got an early jump on the "to-dos I would be done before the biggest Celtics game in 22 years. GAME 7! (hopefully there will be even bigger games in the next few weeks).
Crammed into all of the yard work was a quick drop off of Joelle to the Seacoast Rep for her play (Treasure Island)followed by a pick up at 2:15. No sweat 20 minutes round trip and plenty of time to be back for the game.
So around 1:50 I made my way over to the Rep to pick up Joelle. As I waited in the lobby for my little star I saw one of Joelle's friends mom. I went over to talk to her and she told me that she brought along 6 of Joelle's best friends. It was a very nice gesture. The girls were all "dolled" up in skirts and dresses while toting purses and wearing make-up. They were ready for Broadway. We all were waiting for Joelle to come out of her dressing room when suddenly she appears and 6 little girls mob her like she was a rock star. I wish I could have captured it on film because it was her "moment". She was so happy it almost brought a tear to my eye.
Just as we are ready to make our move to the door the mom who brought the girls (super nice woman-Jen) offered to take all of the girls for nachos at Poco's on the decks in Portsmouth. Joelle was super excited and I wasn't about to ruin it by saying no. But then the curveball. Suddenly Jen realized she didn't have the room in her car to bring Joelle home....my only choice was to stay or bring Joelle home (which really wasn't a choice).
Within moments I went from having my whole day revolve around a 3:30 Celtics game to sitting on the decks in Portsmouth with 6 giddy pre-teens discussing the choreography of High School Musical 1 vs. 2...all with no TV in site...the HORROR! I look at my watch and it tells me it is 2:50, the food order wasn't even in. If I was lucky I would make it home in time for the 3rd quarter. I resigned myself to this fact and joined the fun. "So Girls who's cuter Troy or Ryan"?
Suddenly a life line..one of the girls moms calls Jen and says she's in Portsmouth. She would offer to comedown and pick her daughter up which in turn opened a seat in Jen's car. Jen in turn offered to take Joelle home and I was free to go. I hope I didn't offend her when I jumped out of my seat , kissed Joelle goodbye and run/hopped out of there....in a flash I was on my way home. I made it just in time for tip off. And WHAT A GAME!!!
Jen, if you read this... your gesture of bringing the girls to see Joelle and taking them out after the play was very special. Thank you very much! you made her day and more.....
And I just can't hide it....22 Years, 22 LONG years. Thats how many years I have been watching BAD basketball. ML Carr trying to loose in order to in get Tim Duncan only to have the ping pong balls vex him, the Walker wiggle, Pervis Ellison, Nique, then wanting Greg Oden so bad I could taste it only to have the ping pong balls once again vex the C's. (Well that last one turned out alright didn't it, instead of Oden we got KG and Ray Allen).
13.5 hours till tip off. Wear your green and Go CELTICS! I need a cold shower....
Another impressive win for the Celtics last night. They have now beaten every team in the NBA. The magic number to clinch home court advantage throughout the playoffs is 5.
I had a thought last night-scary I know-When the NBA held the draft lottery last year I watched with baited breath. I was sure they would land either the #1 or # 2 pick. When the dust had settled they had #5. I was devastated . I remember telling Wendy that the fateful night had secured a spot in my all time 5 worst Boston sports nightmares. Although it may have been bumped to 6 after February 3rd of 2008. But when it's all said and done it could end up in the top 10 of all time best Boston sports moments. If they had secured #1 or #2 they certainly would be in a rebuilding year this year and maybe next. Instead through a series of remarkable trades the Celtics have a real chance at raising #17. What a turnaround!

Last night I took the kids to the Celtics Game at the TD Banknorth Garden. It was a big game because it featured the Minnesota Timberwolves whom the Celtics traded 4 players to for Kevin Garnett. The Celtics boast the best record in the NBA and the T-Wolves the worst (so far the trade has worked in Boston's favor..the future may be different???).
The high lite of the night came when all three of the kids were featured on the Jumbotron. They were dancing away during a time out when they were caught on tape. The kids loved it! (so did I).
As for the game..it was a "barn burner". The Celtics pulled out the W with seconds to spare. We had a great time! I love taking the kids to games.
